Black Men Empowering Neighborhoods BookClub

Hey folks.. I thought it would be good to start this discussion where folks can introduce themselves. I suppose since I started it, I get the luxury of going first.. UH OH.

The name (pseudonym) is Anthony Taurus, president the United States of Anthony over at www.anthonytaurus.com. I describe myself as a "Sociopolitical/Economic Expert, Marijuana Connoisseur, Marketing Genius, and Social Retard". I mostly write about "The United States of Anthony is a blog of my own wisdom - thoughts, theories, concepts, and ideas - on whatever I feel like talking about on any given day."

See I have all that ready as far as introductions go. LOL. I am also an advocate for marijuana legalization so expect to hear about marijuana from me and feel free to ask me questions.

Why is it important for Black men to worry about marijuana, even if you don't use yourself?
Chances are, you know someone who uses marijuana even though you don't know they use. They just haven't told you yet. At any rate, Black men tend to be very naive (ignorant) when it comes to marijuana, especially as it relates to the law and legal concerns. While we mostly have just an inkling, it is true that Black males get arrested more, searched more and serve longer, harsher sentences than any one else out there. So, even though you may not do the deed, it doesn't hurt to have knowledge that may help protect you in the future. Hopefully, you can pass around that information to your friends.
